Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act is an extremely important civil rights law for students with disabilities. It states that, "No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States...shall, solely by reason of his or her disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program receiving Federal financial assistance. (Section 504, 29 U.S.C part 794[a])
