Court Structure

- United States District Court is where the fact-finding process takes place, also, the matters of dispute are heard by a judges or a jury, and this is where the issues of the facts are determined.
- Intermediate Appellate Court is where the court reviews an appeal from the lower court in order to see if the lower court applied the principles of the law correctly, and their decision can either affirm, reverse, or modify the outcome of the lower court.
- Court of Last Resort is when a party does not agree with the decision of the appellate court, they then file an appeal with the Court of Last Resort, and this court decides if the decision of the lower court applied the law correctly.
